Scale on pool covers?Rough crispy walls? Hard water?
With the majority of the UK in a ‘hard water area’ these issues are all too common in swimming pools and are often attributed to fluctuations in pH and also to the high water temperatures that pool owners seek to operate at.
To remove scale, you can reduce the water level (check for water table issues prior to doing this) and use Decalcit Super to remove it from the walls and floor. Alternatively, you could prevent the scale formation in the first place by making Calcinex® part of your start up and regular maintenance regime.
Calcinex® is a concentrated liquid preventing calcium and metal deposits on pool walls and floor. Due to the special formula, Calcinex® is also stable in chlorine-, bromine- or oxygen-maintained pools and maintains its full effectiveness throughout.
Calcinex® should be applied immediately after filling the pool with fresh water. Calcinex® will prevent calcium present in the water to precipitate and settle on pool walls and floor. Although designed as a preventative measure, Calcinex®can also assist in removal of existing light scale by enabling the top layer of it to soften and be brushed off.
How to use:
Add 300ml of Calcinex® per 10m³ with the circulation pump running. Ideally this will be added immediately after filling the pool, but as an alternative can be added at the start of the season as the pool is opened up.
After dosing, let the circulation pump run for at least two hours to allow the product to spread out well in the pool.
For water temperatures that are to be maintained above 28°C, it is recommended to increase the dosage by 50%.
As fresh water is added after backwashing, re-dosing is required.
